The Group has diversified interests and is engaged in manufacture of various Industrial Chemicals for Multiple Applications in several companies. The Group was initially engaged in sugar business, which later diversified into the field of Industrial Chemicals. The Group set up its first Indigenous plant to produce ‘Synthetic Fillers’ popularly known as ‘Calcium Carbonate (Caco3) ‘Precipitated and Activated’ in the State of Uttar Pradesh where the high quality Limestone is available in plenty in nearby area.

The company does not produce sugar any more, however, ‘Gulshan Sugars’ being the  ‘Brand Equity’ and well known amongst its customers as such.  The company made a Public Issue of Equity Shares in the year 1991 which was over subscribed by more than 40 times in dull market.  The company’s shares are traded at Bombay Stock Exchange.

The Group set up manufacturing facilities to produce Specialty Chemical popularly known as Sorbitol 70% in the State of Gujarat.  The plant is equipped with International Quality Equipment and Technology having the largest capacities in India.  The plant is capable to produce Crystalline and Non-crystalline grade of Sorbitol, which is a unique feature as compared to other domestic plants.

The Group drives its source of inspiration, entrepreneurship, Corporate Vision and Philosphy, Independence, and corporate growth from Group’s founder Late Shri Gulshan Rai Jain who was a great Philanthropist, Dynamic Entrepreneur and Social Activist of his times.  He was also a great social reformer.  Under his stewardship and guidance, his son Dr. C.K. Jain has successfully managed and grown the organization to the present level of operations.  At present, the group has three listed companies i.e. GSCL, GPL, and GCL. 

The management of all the companies is vested in Independent Board of Directors.  The Board consists of qualified Professional and Independent Directors from all disciplines such as Technical, Marketing, Finance and Administration background. The other top management team comprises of a mix of professionals and technocrats in engineering, management, and industry specialization with experience of operating in a cross-cultural environment.

In GSCL, the company is engaged in manufacture of PCC and ACC and has the largest facilities at Muzaffarnagar in the state of Uttar Pradesh where high quality limestone is available in plenty in near by area.  The plant is located about 130 kms from the Delhi (Indian Capital).  The facilities are well planned in order to give the quality of working conditions.  The plant is surrounded by well-maintained green area.  The company has installed equipment of International Quality Standards. The present installed capacity is 70000 TPA. The company proposes to enhance the capacity by 20000 TPA.

In GPL, the company is manufacturing facilities with international quality equipment and technology having the largest capacity in the country.  The plant is located at Jhagadia Industrial Estate, Bharuch, Gujarat. 

In GCL, the company is engaged to manufacture of PCC at Village Rampur Majre, Dhaula Kuan, Distt. Sirmaur (Himachal Pradesh)

The group has a total work force of about 500 providing direct employment.  In addition, the group provides indirect employment to a large population. The Group has presence in all over India having its manufacturing set up and marketing control offices.

The Group has also recognized the ‘Social Service’ as its moral responsibility. The Group provides necessary infrastructure and support to run charitable and social organizations for social cause.
